Privacy policy

How stoolme handles information. Short version: the tools run in your browser, we don't see your input, and we use a small amount of analytics and advertising.

Last updated: 1 February 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information stoolme ("we", "us", "our") collects when you visit stoolme.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written to be readable; if anything is unclear, please email us at [email protected].

Short version

  • The tools run in your browser. We do not receive the text, files, or other content you paste into them.
  • We use a small amount of analytics to count visits and understand which tools are popular.
  • We display ads through Google AdSense, which may set cookies on your device to measure ad performance.
  • We do not sell or rent your personal data.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you give us

If you write to us via the contact form or by email, we receive the name, email address, and message you provide. We use this only to reply to your message and improve the site. We do not add you to a mailing list.

1.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit a page on stoolme.com, our hosting provider's servers automatically log:

  • Your IP address (truncated where required by local law).
  • The page you visited and the time you visited it.
  • Your browser type, operating system, and approximate device class.
  • The referring URL, if any.

These logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and performance debugging, then deleted.

1.3 Information we do not collect

We do not collect the text, files, images, or other content you process with the tools. That information stays on your device. We never see it.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for a full list. In summary:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — used to remember your consent choices and basic preferences. These are always on; they don't track you.
  • Analytics — we use a privacy-respecting analytics provider to count page views and referrers. Where the law requires consent, you'll be asked first.
  • Advertising — Google AdSense may set cookies to measure ad performance and (where permitted) to personalize ads. You can opt out of personalized ads at https://www.google.com/settings/ads.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate, secure, and maintain the website.
  • Reply to messages you send us.
  • Understand which tools are most useful so we can improve them.
  • Measure the performance of ads, where you have consented.
  • Comply with applicable law.

4. Third parties

We share information only with the following categories of service providers, and only to the extent necessary for them to provide their service to us:

  • Hosting and CDN providers — to deliver the website to your device.
  • Analytics providers — to receive aggregated traffic statistics.
  • Google AdSense — to serve advertising on certain pages. AdSense is operated by Google LLC; its privacy practices are described at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Email and customer-support providers — to receive and reply to your messages.

We do not sell or rent personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

5. Legal bases (EEA/UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR:

  • Legitimate interests — for security logging, fraud prevention, and basic, privacy-respecting analytics.
  • Consent — for advertising cookies and any non-essential analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Contract / pre-contract — when you contact us, to reply to your inquiry.
  • Legal obligation — where required by law.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request that we correct or delete it.
  • Object to processing or request that we restrict it.
  • Withdraw consent for processing that was based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days.

7. Retention

We retain server logs for up to 30 days, contact-form messages for up to 24 months, and aggregated analytics indefinitely (aggregated analytics cannot be used to identify you). We delete information sooner when it is no longer needed.

8. Children

stoolme is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us and we'll delete it.

9. International transfers

Our service providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where this involves transferring personal data outside the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures (TLS in transit, encrypted backups, restricted access) to protect information from unauthorized access. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Significant changes will be announced on the home page.

12. Contact
